The Incorporation (Redéke Island and Dependences) Act 2002

An Official Act of the Government of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy

Article I

 

The Commonwealth of Redéke Island, having existed as an independent state since her separation from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, shall on the stroke of midnight on the Twenty-Fourth Day of March 2002 be considered territory of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy.

 

Article II

 

The Isle shall maintain Provincial status within the Great Commonwealth, with its own democratically-bound administration.  The Province of Redéke Island and Dependences shall be proclaimed by the Ibrosian administration.

 

Article III

 

The Province of Redéke Island and Dependences shall be a recognised province of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy. It shall have its legal system respected, alongside the rights of the Provincial Executive and Provincial Assembly as embodied in the Petition of the Constitution.

 

Article IV

The Provincial Redéke Island and Dependences Government shall be bound by the national Petition of the Constitution.

 

Article V

 

The Province of Redéke Island and Dependences shall be assigned the following administrative codes:

 

ID-R as the Provincial code, and “3” as the National Numerical Identifier

 

Article VI

 

It shall be the responsibility of the Great Commonwealth Prime Minister of Parliament to assign Redéke Island and Dependences a provincial Coat-of-Arms and provincial vexillium.

 

Article V

 

The head of the Provincial Assembly shall be the Governor-Lieutenant of the Province of Redéke Island and Dependences. The Great Commonwealth Parliament’s Prime Minister, in consul with the Provincial Assembly, shall appoint this role. The Governor-Lieutenant is entitled to a seat within the Great Commonwealth Wéthenágemoté, alongside the Provincial Attorney-Lieutenant.

 

Article VI

 

The Province of Redéke Island is a political sub-division of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy and must clearly acknowledge this in all activities. The Ibrosian National Flag is to be considered official in Redéke Island. Where a provincial flag is flown, a national flag must be flown within no more than thirty metres of it, and in a superior position.

 

Article VII

 

The Redéke Island and Dependences Provincial Assembly shall have the right to grant knighthoods to the Great and Noble Order of Redéke Island (ORI) to all Ibrosian nationals. Foreign citizens may have this honour bestowed upon them by the Provincial Assembly in consul with the Great Commonwealth National Parliament (Éhoi).

 

Article VIII

 

The High Court of Redéke Island and Dependences shall have the right to try civil cases within the province alongside torts and petty treasons. The Great Commonwealth Supreme Court of the Judiciary shall have a monopoly over trial of high treasons and appeal cases

 

Article IX

 

Until such times as a suitable Governor-Lieutenant can be appointed, the Prime Minister of Parliament shall be given the powers of the aforementioned office in his official jurisdiction as Lord of Redéke Island. This office shall be handed to the prime minister in times when a State of Emergency is declared and when a Governor-Lieutenant steps down or dies.
