AN ACT OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAW to repeal the outdated Constitution Act 2001.

 

Should it be enacted by the will of at least two thirds of the people of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy, this Act shall be passed into constitutional law with the particulars stated herein:

 

1. General Provisions – (1) The Constitution Act 2001 (‘the Act’), and all subsequent Constitutional Amendments, are hereby repealed.

(2) An Ibrosian Constitutional Convention shall be established and ---

                (a) Shall be headed by the Prime Minister

                (b) Shall involved all citizens who wish to participate

(c) Shall draft a new Constitution Act for the Great Commonwealth, to be enacted on the 11th day of November, 2003 or any other date appointed by Act of Parliament.

(3) In the interim period where no constitution applies, this Act shall be the fundamental law of the land.

(4) The structure of the National Executive and powers of the grande éhoi, Senate and Legislative Assembly shall be unalterable except by amendment to this document. No new government departments or posts may be created in the meantime.

(5) The same rights and liberties as extended to the Ibrosian people before the repeal of the Act shall remain.

 

2. Short Title, Duration and Commencement – (1) This Act of Constitutional Law may be cited as the Repeal of the Constitution Act (Constitutional Law) Act 2003.

(2) This Act shall come into effect upon the agreement of two-thirds of the grande éhoi and the authorisation by the Returning Officer.

(3) This Act, with the exception of Section 1(1), shall expire on the 11th day of November, 2003, where it shall be as if it were never made.
