The Anti-Rudeness in Public Places Act

The Twenty-First day of April, Twenty-Hundred and Two

 

Article I

 

It shall henceforth be unlawful to smoke or perform any other act proven to endanger health and well-being in public areas of the Ibrosian Democracy.

 

Article II

 

The aforementioned crime (Article I) shall be considered Common Assault, and a Tort against an individual, for which they can petition courts for compensation from the committer of the tort should damages be done against them.

 

Article III

 

To reflect this status, tobacco shall be treated in the same respect as any other drug when entering the Great Commonwealth, in that it shall be tested for purity and returned to the owner on the grounds that it be for personal usage only.

 

Article IV

 

Being that smoking is unhealthy and downright idiotic, the Great Commonwealth shall discourage the use of cigarettes, or any other tobacco product.

 

Article V

 

It shall be unlawful as in Article II to smoke or perform any action dangerous to public health in Restaurants, Public Houses, Bars, Hotels (with the exception of certain marked private rooms) and other public buildings in the Great Commonwealth.

 

VI. Short Title, Commencement and Extent of this Act

 

(1) This Act may be cited as the Anti-Rudeness in Public Places Act 2002.

 

(2) This act shall come into effect upon the passing by the éhoi and authorisation by the Returning Officer.

 

(3) This Act extends to

           

(a)     The Great Commonwealth

(b)     The Province of Redéke Island and Dependences

(c)     The Province of Nova Britannia
