The Twenty-First day of April, Twenty-Hundred and Two

 

Preface

 

An Act to increase the relevance of the House of the Wéthenágemoté and form the house into an effective legislative body for the passing of proclamations of government.

 

Article I

 

The Wéthenágemoté shall henceforth consist of two houses, the Great Commonwealth House of the Senate (Seinátak) and the Legislative Assembly  (esk’itak dreeserseo)

 

Article II

 

Each province shall elect Senators for a period of one year. This shall be made by popular vote and shall be the responsibility of a Commonwealth voting council.

 

Article III

 

Each province’s number of Senators sent to the House shall be dependent on the Provincial population. The numbers shall be as follows – one senator for a below average sized province, two senators for an average size (plus or minus seven per cent) and three senators for an above average sized province.

 

Article IV

 

A senator must have held Great Commonwealth Citizenship for a period of no less than six months at the time of polling and be resident of the province which they shall represent.

 

Article V

 

The Cabinet of Ministers and Special Directors shall be formed into the upper house of the Wéthenágemoté to be known as the ‘Legislative Council’ of which one member shall be chosen for a maximum of two years to be considered head of the council. These shall make up the ‘Legislative Assembly’.

 

Article VI

 

The head of the House of the Senate shall be the ‘Great Commonwealth Governor of the Senate’ or ‘Governor’. The governor shall be selected by majority approval of the house.

 

Article VII

 

Official approval of a Proclamation must be made by both houses for it to be entered into law. Proclamations may be put forward by any Senator or Councillor. The houses shall be run with their own procedures, under the control of the Governor or the Prime Minister of Parliament.

 

 

VIII. Short Title, Commencement and Extent of this Act

 

(1) This Act may be cited as the Triumphant Wéthenágemoté Reform Act 2002

 

(2) This act shall come into effect upon the passing by the éhoi and authorisation by the Returning Officer.

 

(3) This Act extends to

        

         (a) The Great Commonwealth
