The Ratification of Provincial Status (Nova Britannia) Act

Whereas the Province of Redéke Island and Dependences has been granted provincial status under the Incorporation (Redéke Island and Dependences) Act 2002 and,
Whereas
Nova Britannia (occupying the same land as Capital Territory) has been a de
facto province since November 2001 and,
Whereas
Nova Britannia has never been formally recognised as a province of this Great
Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy,
Therefore,
The Province of Nova Britannia shall be a recognised province of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy. It shall have its legal system respected, alongside the rights of the Provincial Executive and Provincial Assembly as embodied in the Petition of the Constitution.
The Provincial Nova Britannic Government shall be bound by the national Petition of the Constitution.
Article IV
The Province of Nova Britannia shall be assigned the following administrative codes:
ID-NB as the Provincial code, and “2” as the National Numerical Identifier
Article V
The Nova Britannic flag, being red with a British Union Flag in the canton and defaced with a white five-pointed star shall be considered to be the Nova Britannic Provincial Vexillum. The Coat of Arms for the Province shall be assigned by the Great Commonwealth Prime Minister of Parliament.
Article VI
The head of the Provincial Assembly shall be the Governor-Lieutenant of the Province of Nova Britannia. The Great Commonwealth Parliament’s Prime Minister, in consul with the Provincial Assembly, shall appoint this role. The Governor-Lieutenant is entitled to a seat within the Great Commonwealth Wéthenágemoté, alongside the Provincial Attorney-Lieutenant.
Article VI
The Province of Nova Britannia is a political sub-division of the Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy and must clearly acknowledge this in all activities. The Ibrosian National Flag is to be considered official in Nova Britannia. Where a provincial flag is flown, a national flag must be flown within no more than thirty metres of it, and in a superior position.
Article VII
Nova Britannic Provincial Assembly shall have the right to grant knighthoods to the Great and Noble Order of Nova Britannia (ONB) to all Ibrosian nationals. Foreign citizens may have this honour bestowed upon them by the Provincial Assembly in consul with the Great Commonwealth National Parliament (Éhoi).
Article VIII
The High Court of Nova Britannia shall have the right to try civil cases within the province alongside torts and petty treasons. The Great Commonwealth Supreme Court of the Judiciary shall have a monopoly over trial of high treasons and appeal cases
IX. Short Title, Commencement and Extent of this Act
(1) This Act may be cited as the Ratification of Provincial Status (Nova Britannia) Act 2002
(2) This act shall come into effect upon the passing by the éhoi and authorisation by the Returning Officer
(3) This Act extends to
(a) The Great Commonwealth of the Ibrosian Democracy
(b) The Province of Nova Britannia
