Preamble

In the course of modern international events, it appears that Western civilisation has seen no greater threat than since the ‘Cold War’ between the United States of America and the Soyuz Sovyetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The embodiment of this was the terrorist attacks on New York City on the eleventh day of September of this year. Therefore, it is the unfortunate duty of this Parliament to legislate during such times against attacks occurring on Lk’esoeseak-Iboroseoean soil.

Article I

The Great Commonwealth of Lk’esoeseak-Iboroseo fully condemns the attacks on America, and indeed shall condemn any attack on civilians the world over.

Article II

To defend this Great Commonwealth, both at home and overseas, an Office of the Ministry of Defence shall be appointed to combine intelligence reports. This Office shall be known as the Office of National Security and shall be fully autonomous of the Ministry of Defence.

Article III

The Office of National Security shall report directly and exclusively to the Prime Minister.

Article IV

The Office of National Security is exempt from Freedom of Information laws.

Article V

The Office of National Security shall be expected to compile reports and act as a Parliamentary Commission in times of crisis and threat to the security of the nation

Article VI

All of the Ministry of Defence’s resources shall be at the disposal of the Office of National Security
